I wrote the above series as well as my first novel, and a few short stories, under the pen name 'Pauline West'. Fans of Evening's Kingdom might enjoy these earlier pages.
My first book was called.... drumroll please.... Evening's Land. (hehe, I know...) Richly preternatural and spine-tinglingly erotic, the story is an exploration of love, loss and loyalty that will haunt long after the last page is turned.

Think YA Girl Interrupted + Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. Like most first books, I'm the first to admit, this one has a lot of problems.
But for reasons I mention below, there are a few things in it that I want to save. I plan to revisit & edit it for the podcast, renaming it (ha!), giving Jupiter a much more prominent role, combining a few characters & tightening/clarifying the narrative overall.
I wrote the novel as a way of coping with our brother James' death - we lost him early in the opioid crisis, as Ada loses Faye - but I did not consciously realize this was what I was doing until I wept, finishing the final scene between Ada and Faye. For this reason alone, I'd like to do the story, and thereby James, better justice.
If you're inclined to take a peek, it's interesting to notice themes repeated across many of my stories:
-Dark, complex women with dangerous gifts they must learn to wield well;
-Charismatic, erotic leader-villains;
-Journeys into the Collective Unconscious, to then reconcile knowledge & allies into the waking world....
